The heat will be on at the Malaysian Grand Prix

Written by: Neil

It's going to be one of the hottest races of the year when the Malaysian Grand Prix gets underway this weekend, and the fiery heat of the track will only be matched by the heat of battle at the top of the drivers' standings.

Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg will resume their fight to claim this year's drivers' championship at what is traditionally one of the most gruelling events on the Formula 1 calendar.

With temperatures rising into the mid 30s and 100 per cent humidity expected, the race for the chequered flag in Malaysia is one that always takes its toll on the body and mind of the drivers.

The Sepang International Circuit is definitely a favourite with the fans though, as the fast straights and sweeping curves make for a thrilling outing and plenty of opportunities for overtaking.

Indeed, overtaking will be something Hamilton in particular will be focused on come race day, as he looks to overhaul an eight-point deficit to his Mercedes teammate and reclaim top spot in the drivers' standings.

It could be a tall order, however, as Rosberg has been imperious in his performances of recent weeks. We'll be watching on with intrigue this Sunday though, as the Malaysian Grand Prix is always a thriller!
