Can anyone really get excited about the dials and flashing lights that make up the modern dashboard? Well, here in the Petrol News office, yes we can!
The boffins at Ford have pulled out all the stops to make their new Ford GT a true car for the future, with no detail being overlooked in their drive for innovation.
It's therefore great to see that the humble dashboard has itself undergone a dramatic overhaul in the latest designs for this iconic supercar, with the new display built to reduce the risk of driver distraction.
It makes use of a customisable digital instrument display that ensures the most relevant information can be easily accessed by the driver at any time.
The new system also displays information quickly and easily, ensuring the driver spends more time focused on the road, rather than staring at their dashboard.
Jamal Hameedi, chief engineer at Ford Performance, describes the new display as "defining the visual future of in-car data" – and it's a statement we wholeheartedly agree with!
Stephen Hasley, brand manager at Petrol News, adds: "It may seem a small detail, but the dashboard is an essential part of any vehicle. With its new look and focus on reduced distraction, the Ford GT is a real groundbreaker when it comes to innovative design."
