Success for Aston Martin at Six Hours of Silverstone

Written by: Neil

One of our favourite sports is back and it brings us great joy to also celebrate a successful start to the new season for one of our favourite marques, Aston Martin.

The team recorded a double podium finish – a double-whammy of delight for us – in the opening race of this year's FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), which took place at the acclaimed Silverstone circuit last weekend.

Aston Martin Racing was able to bring home a second and third-place result at the Six Hours of Silverstone – one of the top endurance races of the whole year – just losing out to the three-man Porsche team of Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb.

Second and third was a great result for Aston Martin though, with the car #98 team of Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda just edging out their teammates in car #95 (Darren Turner, Marco Sorensen and Nicki Thiim).

The WEC is a true test of driving grit, as racers battle it out for hour after hour to see whose mettle is the strongest and who has the skills to bring home their car safely.

Set to return for the Six Hours of Spa at the start of May, the championship will then move on to the world famous 24 Hours of Le Mans in mid-June – and that's a spectacle we really can't wait to see!
