The established order of Formula 1 has been almost set in stone during recent seasons, with the flying Silver Arrows of Mercedes leading the pack race after race.
However, with this weekend set to see the pinnacle of motorsport making its way to the iconic Hungaroring for the Hungarian Grand Prix (July 24th), Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff believes Red Bull could really cause an upset.
Ahead of the coming Grand Prix, Wolff stated: "This circuit has not been kind to us over the past two years and it plays to the strengths of our rivals.
"The Red Bull, for example, is a car that functions well where high drag isn't penalised as much as at other types of circuit. So, in wet conditions and at low-speed circuits such as the Hungaroring, they are a major threat."
It's a sentiment that all those here in the Petrol News office share with the Mercedes team boss, as the winding and technical Hungaroring has thrown up some considerable upsets in years gone by.
We'll be tuning in come the start of the race on Sunday and it's sure to be another humdinger. We're hoping for thrills and spills as the frontrunners battle for supremacy, and who knows, the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo could be out to cause an upset if their form holds true!
