New Aston Martin hypercar coming in 2021

Written by: Neil

Aston Martin will unleash an all-new limited edition hypercar in 2021.

It is codenamed Project ‘003’ for now, in reference to it being Aston Martin’s third ever hypercar, and it will make use of technology showcased in the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

Details are vague for now, but we do know that Project ‘003’ will be built around a lightweight structure and powered by a turbocharged petrol-electric hybrid engine.

Aston says the exterior will feature active aerodynamics to deliver outstanding levels of downforce, while active suspension systems will provide next-level precision, control and driver connection similar to that seen in the Valkyrie.

The car maker is also confident that Project ‘003’ will possess class-leading dynamics on both road and track.

Despite this focus on performance, the new mid-engined hypercar is also being designed with everyday road use in mind, so expect decent luggage space.

It will be fully homologated and available worldwide in both left and right-hand drive, but only 500 coupe examples will be made built. The first cars are slated to arrive late on in 2021.

Aston Martin chief executive Andy Palmer said the Project ‘003’ is the brand’s “next step into a dynamic and exacting arena.”

He commented: “It was always the intention for the Aston Martin Valkyrie to be a once-in-a lifetime project.

“However, it was also vital to us that Valkyrie would create a legacy: a direct descendent that would also set new standards within its own area of the hypercar market, creating a bloodline of highly specialised, limited production machines that can exist in parallel with Aston Martin’s series production models.”

And that’s everything we know for now. Check back in 2021 for more details…
