Here in the Petrol News office, we recently got excited about the all-carbon fibre McLaren P1 that was showcased by the marque, and now they've gone and done it to us again!
This time, the team at McLaren Special Operations (MSO) have truly outdone themselves, with the creation of the new MSO Carbon Series LT – a model made in full carbon fibre that is based on the stunningly impressive McLaren 675LT Spider.
Just 25 units of this beautiful new lightweight sportscar are to be produced by the manufacturer, making it a rare treat indeed to be able to catch a glimpse of one.
The lightweight nature of carbon fibre makes the LT a real powerhouse in the performance stakes, with the model's 3.8-litre V8 powertrain kicking out a monstrous 700 Nm of torque and propelling the vehicle from zero to 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds.
We're also loving the look of the the gloss carbon fibre bodywork, giving an industrial but almost futuristic appearance that sits well alongside the sleek lines of the traditional 675LT Spider.
With an electrically retractable roof, the LT is set to be a dream for summer driving; and with the temperatures rising across the UK right now, we'd love to get behind the wheel of one, drop the top and get out for a spin!
It might happen, maybe.
