McLaren confirms GT3 attendance in Geneva

Written by: Neil

Luxury sportscar manufacturer McLaren has confirmed its 650S GT3 model will take pride of place at the marque's upcoming stand at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

Fresh from victories on four continents – Asia, Australasia, Europe and North America – in 2015, the 650S GT3 is set to wow crowds at this year's international automotive showpiece, with the marque also confirming it will be expanding its driver line-up for the coming GT3 season.

Andrew Kirkaldy, managing director at McLaren GT, said: "The 2016 season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting – and challenging – so far, with more cars racing in more championships across the world.

"With the combination that our factory line-up offers, along with the talent in our Driver Academy, we are hoping for another good year."

Rob Bell and Alvaro Parente will continue to drive with McLaren GT in 2016, while 24-year-old Come Ledogar will join the team also.

The young Frenchman brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously secured victory at the Porsche Carrera Cup France in 2014 and been runner-up in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Porsche Carrera Cup Italia last year.

Adding to the depth and experience of the team, Ledogar hopes to achieve similar successes with McLaren and the 650S GT3 in 2016.
