High-octane fun at the 6 Hours of Nurburgring

Written by: Neil

The 6 Hours of Nurburgring will be held at the iconic German circuit this weekend (July 22nd to 24th) and here in the Petrol News office we can't wait for the action to get underway!

A total of 33 drivers will be vying for victory in the fourth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), hoping to pick up the fight from the recent 24 Hours of Le Mans, which took place in June.

The Porsche 919 Hybrid trio of Neel Jani, Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb now head the WEC standings after securing a surprise win in Le Mans, with the championship now wide open heading into the second half of the season.

It means the stakes remain high for all the teams and drivers that will be taking to the challenging and high-octane Nurburgring circuit this weekend; the heartbreak of defeat will surely spur on the team at Toyota, who spectacularly saw their hopes of a Le Mans victory fade on the final lap of this year's iconic race.

We can guarantee the 6 Hours of Nurburgring will be another fitting challenge of endurance for all those taking part, so be sure to check in next week when we'll fill you in on all the weekend's action!
