Ferrari J50 unveiled in Tokyo

Written by: Neil

We're suckers for a new supercar here in the Petrol News office, and the announcement of a new release in this high-octane realm doesn't come much bigger than a new Ferrari!

Well, that's precisely what happened this week, with the Italian marque unveiling its J50 model to mark the 50th anniversary of the brand's activities in Japan.

A two-seat, mid-rear-engined design with evocative styling and flame red exterior, the J50 is not only pleasing to the eye, but also delivers where it counts – on the track and the road.

Offering sublime automotive design is the hallmark of Ferrari and the J50 is no different, with each model tailored to meet individual customer's specific requirements.

Just 50 of these models will ever be produced, so it promises to be an elite and rare edition to the marque's line-up.

Powered by Ferrari's 690 cv version of the 3.9-litre V8 engine, the J50 is based on the 488 Spider, but promises to be much, much more than the standard model – if there is such a thing where Ferrari is concerned!

Stephen Hasley, brand manager at Petrol News, adds: "The J50 will be one of the most advanced sportscars on the planet and the limited production run means it is all set to be one of the highest demand vehicles of the coming years."
