Love him or loathe him, there's one person in particular that has left an indelible mark on the history of Formula 1 more than anyone else over the past six decades and that individual is Bernard Charles Ecclestone, Bernie for short.
Now, with the F1 impresario approaching the twilight of his years in motorsport, all of his achievements are set to be showcased at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
It will be the first time that an individual, and not a marque, has taken centre stage and been honoured at this illustrious event.
From his early days as a driver in the late '40s/early '50s, through to his rise to the very pinnacle of the sport as the head of Formula 1, Ecclestone has influenced generations of drivers and fans over the years.
Bernie helped to transform the sport from its humble beginnings into the multi-billion pound behemoth that it is today, using his legendary vision and business acumen to help the sport and its appeal to grow.
It will be a day to remember for lovers of driving and for those who know their motorsport history, as this special showcase will bring together former world champions, some of the best-loved cars of F1 down the years and testimony from the man himself.
Taking place at Goodwood House on Sunday, July 2nd, this is one special event that F1 aficionados will not want to miss this summer.
Stephen Hasley, brand manager at Petrol News, adds: "He may have his critics, but Bernie Ecclestone is one of those people that simply lives for motorsport. His whole career has been spent in driving forward F1, and for that, we simply say 'thank you, Bernie'."
