What could be more exciting than the news that British automotive legends Aston Martin are preparing to design a new hypercar? Well, how about if the company said they were teaming up with one of the most iconic designers of Formula 1 cars of all time?
That's right, Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing are joining forces to design a new hypercar, and the acclaimed Adrian Newey will be playing a part.
Codenamed Project AM-RB 001, the design is still in its infancy right now, but here in the Petrol News office we really hope the promise of this potentially groundbreaking collaboration lives up to our expectations.
Mastermind behind the iconic championship-winning chassis designs that helped Red Bull to secure back-to-back Constructor and Driver Formula 1 world championships from 2010 to 2013, Newey will be working alongside Aston Martin's chief creative officer Marek Reichman – himself responsible for the stunning good looks of the Aston Martin DB11, the Vulcan and the One-77.
This could therefore be a partnership made in heaven and we're sure that, with such legends of automotive design onboard, the AM-RB 001 (they're going to need a catchier name) should be well worth the wait.
Details are sketchy, at best, right now, but can you tell we're excited to see what this dream team comes up with? Well, whatever it is, we're sure it's going to be something special!
