The world of SUVs have been heating up recently. In the past year, a number of rampant offroaders have emerged, such as Lamborghini’s Urus super SUV and Bentley’s Bentayga V12.
But one newly unveiled car promises to blitz them all: the Lister LFP.
This souped-up SUV takes the Jaguar F-Pace and gifts it a power output of around 670bhp to achieve an estimated 0-60mph time of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 200mph.
For a car weighing more than two tonnes, that’s pretty remarkable.
This 3.5-second sprint is marginally quicker than the Lamborghini Urus (3.6s) and almost a full second better than Bentley’s V12 Bentayga (4.4s).
A number of carbon fibre modifications keeps the weight down and improves road holding, but aside from that, that’s where solid details on the Lister LFP end for now.
Full details on the engine are being held back for a full reveal later this year.
Lister is already taking orders for its “new monster killer SUV” and it doesn’t come cheap, with prices estimated to start from around £140,000.
The car maker sparked an enormous amount of excitement when it revealed the LFT-666 supercar last month and company boss Lawrence Whittaker is expecting a similar reaction when the LFP is eventually unveiled in full.
“Based on early indications, our new LFP promises to repeat the success of the LFT-666, and I really can’t wait to reveal the world’s fastest SUV quite soon,” he commented.
Since the start of the year, the Lister Motor Company has been busy developing its tuning division and setting up its new headquarters in Lancashire.
Stephen Hasley, brand manager at Petrol News, comments: “Lister has served up two mouthwatering automobiles and if they fulfil their promise, then we can only look forward to what they do next.”
