BMW X2 turns on the style at Milan Fashion Week

Written by: Neil

The BMW X2 is one of the most eagerly awaited new cars coming to the market in the next 12 months and a wave of excitement was felt in the Petrol News when this shot of the X2 came through.

Sightings of the X2 Concept have been quite frequent after it broke cover at the Paris Motor Show in 2016.

A production model was unveiled a couple of months after that with barely any changes of note, but BMW says the X2 is “still far from being ready for its market debut”.

With time to kill, BMW’s newest ‘sports activity coupé’ made a high profile appearance at Fashion Week in Milan last week (September 20th to 25th), wearing an outfit perfect for the urban jungle.

The X2’s spectacular camouflage effect featured tones of yellow, grey, and black intended to highlight its sporty and stylish qualities.

BMW says the car’s design expresses its innovative spirit and hints heavily where the BMW Group is heading.

A statement from BMW said: “Anyone who encountered the camouflaged X2 during its excursion into city life was able to recognise it immediately for its extravagant, contemporary, and sporty design. The outing offered a good opportunity to see first hand the new interpretation of BMW X design aimed at young people who are extroverted and active.”

Prices for the X2 are expected to start from around £35k.

Stephen Hasley, brand manager at Petrol News, added: “The X2 is the next major arrival for the compact SUV market and imaginative marketing appearances like this one in Milan can only elevate excitement for the car.”
